“Escape from Camp 14”

This is a book I’ve been hearing about and have wanted to read for some time. My mom, who shares a Kindle account with me, recently bought the book and recommended it.

So naturally, it’s collecting dust in my Kindle library.

Anyways, during this Economist report streak I’ve been on, I found an interview by the author, Blaine Harden. He tells some stories from his book about the main character, 신동혁 Shin Dong Hyuk, who grew up in one of the North Korean prison camps. (It’s interesting because some of my students have that first name…)

If you don’t have the chance to read the book, Escape from Camp 14, check out the author’s interview and stories here.
